Independence and self connection are built from “yes”. It has the power to deliver creativity, self awareness and confidence. “No”, based on convenience or lack of faith in their abilities, can smolder these influential characteristics.
6 years. 6 months. A bond like no other.
This is the last harvest from our winter garden which has grown as tall as you. Watching you become more connected to your food is one of the most fulfilling things I’ve been able to teach you…learned along side you really. You’re so concerned about ethical practices, the way food effects your body, and the way it impacts our earth. I’m so proud of the 8 year old you’ve become.

When the schools are full and the parks are empty, it’s just you and me. This is the time to soak it all in. Every tiny word and little feature. Eyes gazing straight into mine.
Your movements are an expression of who you are. Always connected to song and dance. Today is your first gymnastics class, the day you’ve been waiting for since Christmas morning. I can’t wait to watch you shine.
The connections we make in this life are what allow us to thrive. They give meaning and purpose to our days, and shine light on our gifts. Whether it’s human to human, to art, or to the earth, I want to share these moments that fill me.
I’ll continue to shoot every day this year, but the images I share here will be those with a strong connection. The rest…memories for my family.
